KTM reveals all-new 1050 Adventure

The 1050 Adventure is the new less powerful, lighter and smaller capacity brother to the big bore 1190 and 1290 adventure tourers with the view to replacing the popular 990. Hardcore KTM 990 fans were pretty unhappy when KTM discontinued the 990.

It remains to be seen if the 1050 will appeal to fans of the 990. Its profile tends to suggest that it will appeal more to V-Strom 1000 fans who are far and away from the likes of a hardcore KTM 990 rider.

The 1050 Adventure has a smaller capacity V-twin engine, is based on the 1190 power plant. It delivers 95bhp and is approximately 17 kilos lighter than the 1190 Adventure.

It will have all the latest technology with ABS and traction control fitted as standard and in the not too distant future have available the usual accessories like hard-mounted luggage system, heated seats and grips, engine crash bars, sump guards and an anti-theft alarm.
